A Kenotic Servant & Noetic Pilgrim: Reminiscences of the Blessed Elder Theodore
With the blessing of our Abbot and Archbishop His Eminence +JOHN, we have undertaken the awesome task, unworthy of ourselves, to obtain as much
information as is possible regarding our Blessed Elder Theodore (formerly the Russian clergyman, V. Rev. Sergei Irtel). The planned finished document has tentatively been titled, A Kenotic Servant & Noetic Pilgrim: Reminiscences of the Blessed Elder Theodore. Why such a title? From those who knew Vladika Theodore and the second generation who have heard of him directly from his spiritual children can speak of a holy man, one who was truly detached from “the world”, one of unceasing prayer, a very humble hierarch who served Christ’s poor in Mexico and the many places God has graced with the elder’s presence. Once one has described this humble bishop who served the lest and prayed unceasingly we come to realize that Elder Theodore, in action, was a man of Great Love. Love, of course for Christ and His Church but, especially for the human creature no matter how powerful and exulted or powerless and lowly the elder loved all.
Please keep checking back here as we progress in our efforts to tell the world of another priceless pearl God has placed in the ground of human existence in order that we may be assisted once again towards the figure of our salvation Christ Jesus.
If you have any knowledge or direct personal experience of Elder Theodore (formerly Father Sergei Irtel) please forward your information to us at the Project address below.
